August 2017 branding trends reveal a distinct dichotomy between brands taking advantage of pop culture to leverage their marketing campaigns, and those that evoke nostalgic imagery for the same purpose.
An example of the latter is Sprite's summer campaign, where the brand released limited edition cans that feature lyrics from popular artists. There are six available cans for each of the six artists featured, and the campaign is accompanied by a commercial that also features these artists.
While the concept of a food truck is a relatively modern one, the brand Grilled Cheese Wonderland is offering a food truck that is inspired by nostalgic 90s imagery. The truck is a vibrant pink color with a gradient orange to yellow effect, and serves to target Millennials who grew up in the 90s.
