From Holographic Fry Containers to Holiday Soda Bottles
Laura McQuarrie — September 3, 2016 — Lifestyle
The Olympics, late-night snacking and pop culture are some of the themes that have inspired the top ideas in September 2016 food branding.
Since many of today's consumers value planning their days around activities rather than mealtime, food branding and packaging designs are putting an emphasis on items that are small and snackable. Notable examples of this include meat snacks from Duke's, Protein Energy Bites from Bounce and square-shaped marshmallow treats from 'Smashmallow.'
Innovations in fast food branding include KFC launching new graphic takeout packaging in Russia, as well as introducing limited-edition containers inspired by its quick delivery speed for customers in Thailand. One other standout example comes from Australia's Hungry Jack's (known in North America as Burger King), which launched a holographic container for fries specifically to ward off hungry seagulls.
