From Textured Sweater Sneakers to Pikachu-Shaped Pokémon Slip-Ons:

Throughout these 2016 shoe trends, the reemergence of retro styles, uniquely futuristic releases and everything in between is seen.

Building off the popularity of her Puma Creepers, Rihanna continued her work with the athletic brand to drop a series of new updates, offering the Creepers in fresh colorways and textures and releasing punk-inspired sneaker boots and furry slip-on sandals too.

Also featured in these 2016 shoe trends in the collaborative effort between Vans and Disney. Playing on consumers' amiable nostalgic feelings, the two designed a line of Toy Story-honoring sneakers. The look of the characters were incorporated into the colorways and the designs on the uppers and "ANDY" was scrawled across the bottom of the soles.

Pharrell and Drake had a hand in these 2016 shoe trends as well, with each artist incorporating their branding throughout the designs, helping them appeal to their extensive fan bases. Products from influential figures like these and more can be found in our 2017 Trend Reports.
