From Incentivized Recycling Machines to Canned Garbage Ads
Laura McQuarrie — September 2, 2014 — Eco
These littering campaigns take unusual approaches in order to clear the streets and sidewalks of cigarette butts, plastic waste and other used products that only belong in the trash or in a recycling bin.
While some of these creative anti-littering campaigns run as prints in magazines, or outdoor ads that people will see while they're outside and tempted to litter, there are some stunts that take it to the next level by getting people to interact with them. Some great examples of this include machines that trade trash for some sort of reward, or musical ashtrays that invoke enough curiosity to ensure that cigarette buts end up in them rather than littered on the ground.
