14 Animal-Oriented Eateries

With cat cafes becoming increasingly popular around the world, a whole new range of animal-oriented eateries have begun popping up. From hedgehog-friendly coffee shops to bars staffed entirely by dogs, it is clear that animals are quickly becoming acceptable dining companions.

Following the model of the cat cafes popular throughout Asia, a number of coffee shops have begun opening their doors to non-traditional pets. For example, a shop in South Korea lets sheep roam freely inside the restaurant, while a cafe in Tokyo lets diners cuddle up to tiny hedgehogs while they eat.

Beyond restaurants that allow customers to dine alongside different critters, there are also a number of animal-oriented eateries that cater to the pet themselves. For instance, one London restaurant held a puppy-centric brunch complete with venison sausages and peanut butter-filled macaroons. Similarly, a vegetarian restaurant in Montreal opened its doors to canine diners with a selection of homemade dog treats.
