Top 70 Graffiti Trends in 2016

From Depictions of Streetwear-Clad Politicians to Mobile Art Shows:

As these 2016 graffiti trends display, street art is often resurrected to speak to a larger issue, with Pejac's refugee camp mural and Barbara Kruger's large-scale propaganda building piece being just a few examples.

On a lighter note, "lushsux," the same artist who created the famed rendition of Kim Kardashian's iconic nude Instagram selfie, took aim at Taylor Swift in regards to her feud with the business woman and her husband, Kanye West. The mural showed the pop star's portrait, along with the words, "In Loving Memory of Taylor Swift." As it represented much of the discussion surrounding the pop star's revealed knowledge of her mention in 'Famous,' lushsux's piece gained viral traction.

Also included in these 2016 graffiti trends is Bordalo II's trash-made animal art, which considered the impact of ocean pollution. To get a better understanding of how other creatives and brands are engaging the public through art, see Trend Hunter's FREE 2017 Trend Report.
