Marc Jacobs Unveils a Special Design of the Tote Bag

Marc Jacobs works in collaboration with Stephen Sprouse on a special variation of the Tote Bag. This iconic silhouette is signature to the fashion imprint and it taps the help of Sprouse to detail the design with his graffiti language. The blend of street culture and premium fashion decorate the tote. This is launching to celebrate Marc Jacobs' 40th-anniversary milestone with a black base and bright green detail on top for tonal contrast.

In an Instagram post announcing the official launch, it explains, "Marc first discovered American fashion designer Stephen Sprouse’s graffiti prints in 1984, before getting to know him when working on their now iconic collaboration in 2001." The caption also quotes Jacobs from 2009, reading “I wanted to use Stephen’s graffiti because it meant something to me. Stephen as an artist, Stephen as a New York figure. It had the credibility of street, but also the style of somebody who was a fashion designer.”
