New York designer Michael Groth works in collaboration with a Moroccan artisan group to work on a series of wall hangings for the new location of Donna. It is a restaurant and bar located in the West Village on Cornelia Street following the previous closure in Williamsburg back in 2020 due to the pandemic. With a new life, it is defined by bright tonal looks in the form of its vibrant decor.
It serves up a pan-Latin menu with Mediterranean fusions and guests can sip on Filipino-inspired cocktails. It is a worker-owned cooperative and the original owner Leif Young Huckman is now an advisor. The design is inspired by the constructivist art movements during the 20th century in Latin Amerca work works from Sandu Darie, Pedro Alvarez, and Lygia Clark.
