These Smart Packaging Designs Incorporate AR & Social Media

Building off of the excitement that comes with purchasing a new item of any kind, these smart packaging designs give consumers the chance to immediately share the news with friends on social media, or dive head-first into experiences with a product through augmented reality. By integrating these high-tech elements to packaging for drinks, chocolate bar wrappers and cosmetics, packaging designs become more interactive as well as dynamic. One of the most interesting examples is PositiviTea, a disposable tea cup printed with conductive ink that is capable of connecting with nearby mobile devices to share content online.
While packaging is quite often something that gets tossed aside, by incorporating QR codes, social activities, campaigns and animations, the value of boxes, wrappers, cans and other items increases, becoming part of experiences that people want to share with others.
