From Detoxifying Algae-Infused Tiles to Rescued Produce Dips
The November 2019 eco round-up spotlights ventures toward sustainability across the board -- from projects that will impact the life of an entire community to pledges that will create a new reality for businesses. A great, cutting-edge example of the former is an initiative by the Barlett School of Architecture's Bio-Integrated Design Lab. The researchers have looked into algae's capabilities of detoxifying water and have, thus, created 'Indus.' This is a modular tiled wall that will serve as a solution to contaminated water in areas where the resource is scarce for drinking.
