A brewery in Brazil opened its doors and the mandate is not only focused on the modern consumer experience but on sustainability, as well. Located in the city of Ribeirão Preto, Toca do Urso features “a taproom and a beer garden for the Cervejaria Colorado brewery.
The architecture practice tasked with the project to develop the vision and layout for this brewery in Brazil was São Paulo-based SuperLimão Studio. The professionals worked tirelessly to figure out ways to “minimize materials, waste, and energy usage.” As a result, part of the structure is sunken in 1.5 meters below the ground. As the climate in the area tends to be quite hot, this decision is made in the interest of not relying on air conditioning to keep guests comfortable. SuperLimão Studio also chooses other materials such as concrete and gabion cages to ensure comfort in terms of temperature and noise.
