From Charitable Streetwear Apparel to Donation-Splitting Apps
Kalin Ned — August 18, 2020 — Social Good
The July 2020 social good category is extra diverse this month as the work of not-for-profits is much in demand and conscious consumers are requiring businesses to take a stance and help different causes.
For one, there is the Black Lives Matter Movement which has thankfully gained immense traction over the last couple of months. Many brands are taking note and attempting to support it through donations and networking opportunities for Black-owned businesses. EATokra, for example, creates a directory that lists 2,500 restaurants owned by people of color.
The COVID-19 crisis is still not over and the July 2020 social good category calls attention to colleges that introduce more flexible tuition agreements, brands who support healthcare workers, and so on.
Finally, given that it is Pride—many companies are donating to LGBTQ+ communities.
