LEO A DALY recently debuted a new Hotel2Hospital concept that aims to relieve hospital bed shortages amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The new concept chose to convert hotels as they share several common characteristics with hospitals as both feature private rooms with a dedicated toilet and HVAC system as well as food service, cleaning service, waste removal, and laundry services built-in.
The Hotel2Hosptial concept was designed in conjunction with medical professionals and includes three modules: a Quarantine facility for those suspected of having COVID-19; a Symptomatic/Isolation facility for those who have underlying risk factors and are already sick; and lastly, an Uninfected facility for those seeking non-COVID-19 related treatment. Each facility would require a different level of biocontainment.
