35 Shepard Fairey Inspirations

From Street Murals to Political Sandwich Posters:

Shepard Fairey is a contemporary graphic designer and illustrator considered by many to be the most influential street artist today, which explains the abundance of Shepard Fairey inspirations in fashion, art and design.

For years, Shepard Fairey made a name for himself by plastering stickers of his original artwork on the grungy walls of New York City. His love of art and design was borne in the skateboarding scene that Fairey was, and still is, heavily active in. His 'Obey' line dabbles in illustration, design, clothing and stickers. In 2008, Fairey was shoved into the spotlight once again with his Obama 'Hope' campaign poster. According to The New Yorker art critic Peter Schjeldahl that poster is "the most efficacious American political illustration since 'Uncle Sam Wants You'".

The 'Hope' poster, along with many of his previous works, has been the source for numerous Shepard Fairey inspirations including clothing, street murals and skateboard deck designs.
