Artist Ai Weiwei presents a look at a special self-portrait dubbed Ai in Red. It was presented in Singapore at the entrance of ART SG and most notably, it is made from bright LEGO Bricks. It embodies a pop art theme that is true to the works of Andy Warhol and his silkscreen portraits.
The palette of the portrait has a red background with orange-tinted detail and green apparel. Grey LEGO bricks are added to add some more dimension. The LEGO version of the artist is seen from the shoulder upwards and gazing directly at the viewer. It was first presented by Neugerriemschneider, a gallery based in Berlin along with a range of pieces from other artists.
