From Beacon Treasure Hunts to Chair-Scavenging Campaigns

Marketing, tourism, entertainment or social good are just a few of the reasons people love to organize and participate in scavenger hunts. The beauty of these city-wide hunts often means that people are challenged to explore a totally new area, or see a familiar territory in a completely new light. Although you can't be misled with a treasure map where "X" marks the spot, many modern scavenger hunts are now being set up with beacon technology and apps to streamline discovery and prevent people from getting completely lost.
As much as it's fun to get out and explore any city, many brands are also tapping into digital technology and virtual worlds to simulate the excitement of the hunt with social media, the Internet and augmented reality.
