Saying goodbye to a significant other is one of the hardest things we have to do in life, but worry not: these break-up must-haves will make the process go much smoother.

First and foremost, you need the essentials: elastic-waist pants, sugary snacks and a shoulder to cry on. Maybe a shot of tequila, or maybe eight shots of tequila. Having all of these items, and more, pre-assembled into a break-up kit is truly handy -- especially if you're too lethargic with sadness to move from the couch.

Once the basics are covered, what really makes a difference is knowing that someone out there knows how you feel. Sure, you might not have the energy to channel your heartbreak into art, but rest assured, someone else has, and the accuracy to which that art reflects your current emotional state is just as good as therapy.
