From Charitable Graphic T-Shirts to Pay-as-You-Go Solar Fridges
Kalin Ned — July 1, 2020 — Social Good
Many of the June 2020 social good examples are tied to providing relief for those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As food insecurity has increased during the outbreak, many organizations and companies are seeking ways to fight hunger by launching specialized emergency meal programs. McLane Global, for instance, has orchestrated the Meal-to-You program as a private-public collaboration. The aim is to meet the demand for five million emergency meals per week. Instagram, on the other hand, has made live fundraisers possible on its platforms to help out registered not-for-profits in supporting their communities during uncertain times.
On the non-COVID-19 front, the June 2020 social good list also calls attention to a community center for displaced Rohingya women and girls.
