Instagram recently launched a new way for nonprofits to collect donations from followers in real-time with a new live fundraiser feature. Increasingly, users on the social media platform are turning to live streaming to connect with others in real-time and Instagram is making it easier for registered nonprofits to collect contributions or even work towards raising a certain amount of money.
As well as introducing Live Donations, Instagram introduced an I Donated sticker that's available for a limited amount of time after donating to a nonprofit fundraiser on either Instagram Live or in Stories. This feature, introduced to support global relief efforts, has the potential to be applied to other individuals and businesses in a time of need.
