ThePerfectSpace recently unveiled a pandemic shelter project that is a disaster relief solution for emergency situations -- from fires and hurricanes to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In the wake of the ongoing global pandemic, designers are changing the way they approach residential, hospitality and institutional architecture with new rules and regulations set to be in effect post-quarantine.
This pop-up pandemic shelter by ThePerfectSpace is a two-story home sold in an easy-to-build DIY kit. The residence boasts light-weight materials that are collapsible and that are easy to transport by land or air. Additionally, it is designed with virus prevention in mind with "both the interior and exterior sides of its floor, wall and roof panels covered with a hard-shell Formica HPL that cannot be penetrated by black mold, mud, blood, bedbugs, termites or the coronavirus."
Moreover, the prefabricated shelter that is still awaiting patent boasts a waterproof design inside and out for added peace of mind for owners.
