Even if you hated reading them in high school, classic novels are an important part of modern society. You might not have loved reading George Orwell's '1984,' but you probably will use the term 'big brother' when complaining about government spying or Google keeping your records. If you are a bookworm, chances are you have read some of these classic novels just for fun and one of them may even be a personal favorite.
Not only does Hollywood like to take movie ideas from well-known pieces of literature, other innovators are finding the easy reference ability of the classics convenient for reaching out to consumers. There is also a number of artists who for fun have used the famous titles and covers to their own advantage and distorted them to make something interesting and new.
