These top CES 2023 innovations range from computerized lipstick applicators to convenience store metaverses. Hosted in Las Vegas from January 5 to January 8, 2023, the Consumer Electronics Show unveiled the best and latest immersive tech offerings, with exhibitors ranging from lifestyle and auto brands to food and health startups.
Standouts from this year's event include L'Oreal's 'HAPTA' device, described as "the first handheld, ultra-precise computerized makeup applicator designed to advance the beauty needs of people with limited hand and arm mobility." The device addresses the need for more accessibility within the beauty market and was launched alongside L'Oréal Brow Magic. The product was designed in partnership with printed tattoo company Prinker, as "the first at-home electronic eyebrow makeup applicator that provides users with customized brow looks in seconds."
Notable branded activations at CES 2023 included 7-Eleven's metaverse store pop-up. The retailer invited CES attendees to create a custom mobile avatar, and equipped them with a VR headset to immerse them into a virtual world--created in partnership with South Korean developer Caliverse.
Other notable innovations included Samsung's streamlined smart home products like its Bespoke Infinite Line Refrigerator model -- equipped with 3-in-one fridge, freezer and compact wine cellar storage -- along with the Samsung Family Hub Plus refrigerator that features a 32-inch touchscreen display, and integration with Samsung SmartThings and Amazon devices.
