From Upcycled Marine Plastic Bottles to Eco-Friendly Knit Sneakers

As easy as it is to toss an unwanted item in a garbage receptacle, never see it again and hardly consider the impact that even a single item has on the environment, ocean waste is becoming unignorable—fortunately, many forward-thinking brands, designers and creative individuals are creating ocean plastic products to help clean up the world, one item at a time.
Every year, millions of tons of plastics end up polluting the oceans and threatening wildlife, leaving tons of resources for products to be made from as an alternative to virgin materials. Some of the products that have been made with marine plastic include everything from backpacks and sneakers to credit cards and water bottles.
At the same time many new upcycled ocean plastic products are being made, consumers and companies are doing their part to cut down on single-use plastics.
