Lance Armstrong was Stripped of Tour de France Winnings
Jennifer Gosnell — August 26, 2012 — Social Good
With the recent announcement that Lance Armstrong was stripped of Tour de France medals after alleged allegations that the impressive athlete was doping and using banned substances to get ahead, Armstrong has topped the news stories. The testicular cancer fighter has fought a long journey that earned him seven Tour de France titles among many others.
However, as he announced he would no longer be protesting the charges (but yet continuing to proclaim his innocence), the USADA has stripped him of his winnings at Tour de France. Whether these allegations are or are not true, it is a sad day for athletes everywhere. The inspirational survivor has been an encouragement to fellow athletes and cancer survivors with his Live Strong brand through Nike.
