From Climate Change Sculptures to Water-Providing Chocolate Bars
Joey Haar — June 24, 2017 — Social Good
Historians would be hard-pressed to find a time in humanity's past in which at least some portion of society wasn't convinced that things were in terrible shape and disasters were impending, and the June 2017 social good trends show that contemporary people are no more immune to those tendencies than humans have been for all of time. Whether with regards to the state of the environment, political relations, or anything else, organizations are committed to bringing about improvements in the search for a better world -- no matter the relative state of the world today.
One undeniable contemporary issue is the crisis in Syria. With a civil war that has been raging for six years now, millions of Syrians have been forced to leave their homes, and both governments and NGOs are working to keep those people safe. Part of helping those refugees involves getting financial support from citizens around the world, which is why the UN Refugee Agency and Google have partnered to release an interactive website that informs people about the crisis.
