From Flash Dance Videos to Kiddie Dance Battles

Impromptu mobs are a great way to get people out of their everyday rituals and to allow them to see something they dont get to regularly -- plus, the Internet loves them.
Flash mobs have quickly become a guaranteed Web sensation and almost every attempt at an impromptu performance goes viral. All you need is a handful of cameras, and with everyone and their mother having a phone with a camera these days, it isn't hard to capture one of these events.
Whether the point of the flash mob is to get a message across or to simply put a smile on the faces of strangers, it works. Companies are even starting to perform their own flash mobs just to promote a new product or clothing line. One video even shows a group of half-naked models with painted-on clothing walking through London.
