Visitors to New York City's Times Square on December 20th were in for a treat in the form of the Star Wars freeze battle. The Star Wars freeze battle was a combative flash mob designed to promote the release of BioWare's new game 'Star Wars: The Old Republic.'
The battle consisted of some 100 Jedi and Sith battling it out with their lightsabers every half an hour. Between battles the participants would freeze after each lightsaber swipe. There were a handful of Jedi and Sith fully decked out for the event. These warriors were accompanied by many more plainclothes followers of the force and the dark side. Judging by the video, the event was a hit with both participants and observers.
