From Sustainable Plant Systems to Market Poverty Initiatives

The blurring of the triple bottom line -- people, planet and profit -- exemplifies itself in these for-profit purpose organizations. Whether the purpose is socially oriented or more toward building and sustaining a globe that is committed to social justice, profit is also part of the mix according to these businesses.
These for-profit purpose organizations are an attempt at revamping the charity model, that in itself may not be restricted by profit motives per se, but still holds onto a donor-based model in which donors have to be pleased. Sometimes that's forgotten amidst our click-driven philanthropist world in which the better businessman (usually man) is the one better at using marketing in order to show all of the social good the company is doing while at the same time ignoring the negative practices.
