From Electric Deliveries to Eco Commuter Vehicles
Mishal Omar — January 28, 2018 — Autos
Eco transportation trends in 2017 reveal innovations in everything from delivery services to commuting in urban environments.
Delivery services are increasingly boasting eco-friendly functions as brands recognize the need to reduce traffic congestion and pollution, and increase efficiency in their services. Examples of this include London's UPS e-bike initiative, the UK's Royal Mail electric delivery vehicles, and the Tesla Semi, an electrified shipping truck that is currently in its conceptual stage.
Other ways in which eco transportation has been enhanced this past year is through innovations in how workers commute, particularly into or around urban environments. Examples include the Mö, which is a pedal and solar-topped bike that helps commuters go quickly to and from short distances, and the new Nederlandse Spoorwegen trains which are almost entirely powered by wind energy.
