Though Bathing Ape pieces were synonymous with the young, urban male for a very long time, this brand and its apparel have crossed many boundaries since its release. Recently releasing a subsection of the line called Mister Bathing Ape meant for the more sophisticated urbanite, Bathing Ape -- or "Bape" -- is doing what many niche brands should do: grow with their loyal customers instead of trying to reach new ones.
Thus, many new Bathing Ape pieces have spawned out of this transformation. Aside from the classic hooded sweatshirts and shoes, Bape apparel now includes things like cuff links, suits, ties, women's wear and even automobiles. Though the brand may have deviated from its original image, it remains the same in terms of a youthful spirit dedicated to originality and quality.
