The previously perceived limits of the smartphone were pushed with phone trends in 2013. Though previously used as a simple communication devices, phones have come full circle this past year and are now widely recognized as an all-purpose gadget with endless possibilities.

Ease in connectivity due to Bluetooth and virtually globally available WiFi has made it possible to control almost anything via phone. This was best exemplified by the cellphone-synced security systems with locks controlled by a simple tap of your iPhone.

Considering most have their phones on them at all times, multifunction was a big part of phone trends in 2013. Everything from storage space to clinical gadgetry was integrated into smartphones this past year.
