Motorola's 'Rizr' Dynamically Expands via a Rollable Screen

Motorola has unveiled a new concept phone that can transform its size and shape with the push of a button titled the 'Rizr.' The Motorola Rizr is a rollable phone that features a flexible display that wraps around the bottom edge of the device and extends from a 5-inch, 15:9 screen to a 6.5-inch, 22:9 screen. The Rizr is inspired by the original Motorola Rizr series of sliding phones, hence the name.
The Rizr is designed to offer both a compact and a large screen experience, depending on the user’s needs and preferences. The phone can automatically adjust the display size based on the content or the app, or the user can manually trigger the change with a double tap on the power button. The display is a pOLED panel supplied by BOE Display, and it hides the earpiece and the selfie camera behind it. The phone also supports Moto actions, such as a double flick of the wrist to switch to the selfie lens in the camera app.
The Motorola Rizr is still a concept phone, and the company has not announced any plans to bring it to the market yet. However, the Rizr showcases the potential of rollable technology, which could offer more practical and durable solutions than foldable phones. The Rizr weighs 210 grams and has a 3,000 mAh battery, but other specs and features are unknown at this point.
