Sci-Fi Channel Campaign Mimics Vintage Movie Posters
Vincent Salera — February 8, 2009 — Pop Culture
These ads for the Sci-Fi Channel use a very clever twist on the old movie posters that warn that "The aliens are coming!" These posters reverse the roles, instead warning that "The humans are coming!"
I love the use of the vintage-looking images, complete with worn-out creases. The lizard man’s facial expression of horror upon seeing the woman in the water is absolutely hilarious. The lady actually looks like Nancy Drew from the old classic book covers.
The ads were created by advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, Milan, Italy with creative direction by Agostino Toscana, copywriting by Luca Lorenzini and super illustrations by Mike Koelsch.
