UK-based pie chain Pieminister is now introducing consumers to 'Kevin,' a savory vegan pie that is made with a butter-free pastry. Since the chain got its start in 2003, it has served a range of vegetarian-friendly options, but it is now introducing its first vegan recipe that is 100% plant based.
Just in time for Veganuary—an event that inspires people to try going vegan throughout the month of January—Kevin will be introduced as a new option made with British chestnut mushrooms, baby onions, quinoa, thyme, tomatoes and red wine.
Although Kevin was created as an inclusive option for those who follow plant-based diets, Pieminister notes that "we think that even the most carnivorous customers might be pleasantly surprised by Kevin."
