At IFA 2018, Samsung's Doorways experience allows attendees to interact with a variety of connected products in an augmented reality setting that will be familiar to those who watch Family Guy.
As part of the experience, Samsung appliances can be found in the Griffin family home and trade show visitors are able to use image recognition to scan the walls and floor of the booth via an app. With Google's ARCore, Samsung appliances appear in the animated home and show how Bixby, Samsung's AI assistant, may be used to complete a variety of tasks in the home with ease.
For those who are unable to try the AR app experience as part of the trade show, Samsung is promising that Doorways will soon be available online.
