Rugelach is a traditional Jewish pastry that's like a crescent-shaped cookie that is typically filled with anything from raisins and nuts to chocolate, cream cheese, poppy seeds or cinnamon. Now, New York City's Quality Eats is launching a rugelach-inspired ice cream in collaboration with the Orwashers bakery, which has been around since 1916. At its establishment, Orwashers serves rugelach in apricot, chocolate and raspberry flavors.
The flavor of the rugelach ice cream is described as having a cookies and cream-like style, but with more of an emphasis on celebrating New York's take on the dessert with an emphasis on exploring local, cultural taste.
As part of this collaboration, both the Quality Eats steakhouse and the Orwashers bakery will be selling the pastry-inspired ice cream by the pint.
