Although there are some great examples of hi-tech billboards that are very location-specific, technology doesn't always have to be integrated for a billboard ad to be eye-catching. Some simple ideas that are more affordable and low-tech encourage interaction from their immediate surrounds, such as engaging with the local wildlife, or playing with the moon, shadows, fire and even passersby. Some billboards only reveal their true meaning at certain points of the day, which definitely makes them interesting to keep an eye on, as well as something that people will tell others to watch out for.
