In a recent interview with Collider, Stan Lee and John Favreau divulged their interest in shooting ‘Iron Man 2’ in 3-D for IMAX screens. Making such an influential comic book character into a 3-D movie sequel would be an incredible addition to an ever-expanding niche that now includes tattoos, fine art and interior design.
While the decision to make ‘Iron Man 2’ in 3-D will come down to cost, 3-D doesn’t always have to be expensive. You can take the Disney World Google Earth tour and virtually explore the grounds for free, or skateboard over Philadelphia’s painted 3-D speed bumps for a thrill that doesn’t cost a dime.
3-D armor would look fantastic in ‘Iron Man 2,’ however. Joshua Heineman’s artwork in the cluster below takes 2-D photos and turns them into 3-D animated art. Imagine how War Machine and Iron Man would look if they were similarly rendered in 3-D!
