Press’d Sandwich Shop expanded its menu with two new vegan sandwiches that are made with a meatless chicken substitute by Gardein. The California Vegan sandwich features Gardein Chick’n with guacamole, lettuce and tomato, plus vegan-friendly versions of cheddar cheese and mayonnaise. There's also the Blazing Vegan sandwich, which has a similar filling served on vegan multigrain bread but is instead topped with wing sauce.
The plant-based sandwiches have the potential to appeal to a wide range of consumers including vegetarians, vegans and even flexitarians, especially as Press’d CEO and Co-Founder Scott Gordo says that "We have been looking to enter the vegan market for some time but have yet to find a product that meets our standard for great taste."
