Toy-Made Christmas Trees

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

Disney's Toy Christmas Tree is Made from 2,000 Stuffed Animals

— November 13, 2015 — Life-Stages
While gift-wrapped toys are usually found tucked under a holiday tree, Disney created a festive 14-meter toy Christmas tree made from more than 2,000 plush toys. The gigantic Disney Junior Christmas Tree was installed at the St Pancras International station in London, featuring toys from Disney shows like Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First and Miles From Tomorrow. At the very top of the Disney Christmas tree sits a one-meter Mickey Mouse toy as a topper.

While seeing the tree on its own is impressive enough, to enhance the spectacle, like magic, Disney has it rain down artificial snowflakes every four minutes that dissolve once reaching the ground.

After the tree is taken apart in early January, the thousands of Disney plush toys will be donated to the Kids children's charity.
Trend Themes
1. Plush Toy Decor - The trend of using plush toys as a decorative element for holidays or special events could inspire companies to create similar installations with different themes.
2. Eco-friendly Charity Activation - The trend of donating materials from temporary installations to charitable organizations could motivate companies to develop innovative ways to repurpose their event materials after use.
3. Interactive Ornamentation - The trend of creating interactive decorations could prompt businesses to develop similar products that engage customers in an exciting and memorable way.
Industry Implications
1. Event Planning - Event companies could take advantage of the plush toy decor trend by incorporating similar installations in their event designs for clients.
2. Children's Toys - Toy companies could develop special holiday toy collections like Disney that can be used for decorative purposes and can also be donated to children's charities after.
3. Nonprofit Organizations - Charities like Kids children's charity could partner with event companies to receive repurposed materials and create awareness for their cause through events.
