Finnish distillery Kyrö was founded in a sauna in 2012 and its first production began in 2014; Kyrö Sauna Stories celebrates the distillery’s 10th anniversary as the world's first sauna-finished whisky.
This limited-edition malted rye whisky was finished in Planteray rum casks within a specially built sauna. With the barrels gently heated, the whisky had the chance to "sweat" to create what Kyrö’s distiller describes as its "most relaxed whisky" to date.
With a flavor that features creamy vanilla, Jamaican fruits, brown sugar and spice, Sauna Stories No 1 kick-starts a series of whisky products that will be similarly finished in the sauna to produce a unique result, delights new and seasoned whisky drinkers and reinforces the brand's origin story.
