The Kavalan Lán whisky has been added to the Taiwan-based distillery's product portfolio that's crafted with its provenance in mind to provide consumers with the perfect expression to try out. The spirit is being added to the brand's single malt core lineup and pays homage to Yilan County in northeastern Taiwan, while the name refers to both the region and the Mandarin name for orchid. The spirit has a 43% ABV, and will see it arriving in Europe, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Canada before making its way to all other countries in the second launch.
CEO Y.T. Lee spoke on the Kavalan Lán whisky further saying, "Our Port-aged Lán whisky captures the delicate floral aromas of the King Car Peach orchid. It offers a sophisticated blend of vanilla and roasted nuts, enriched by our signature STR (shaved, toasted, re-charred) technique using Vinho wine casks, resulting in a smooth, fruity profile with layers of caramel sweetness."
