Hoppy IPAs and single malt whiskeys may seem to be completely different genres of alcohol indulgence altogether, but Lagunitas Brewing Company and Griffo Distillery have teamed up to ensure that these two beverages can sing from the same hymn sheet, with the introduction of the 'Still Waldos' whiskey, which is spiked with hops.
Offered up as a limited release, this particular single malt whiskey finds its origins in a Lagunitas Brewing project that involved creating a mash of a special ale, which was then fermented. The whiskey experts at Griffo then entered the picture, inserting the mash and hops to their stilling mechanism. Eventually, the liquid was stored in an American oak cask and aged for a few years to result in a whiskey that is floral, hoppy and utterly unique in its flavor profile.
