A limited number of Ruthless whiskey bottles are launching at California's St. George Spirits Distillery and this new product was made from distilled Sierra Nevada beer. This collaboration from St. George Spirits and Sierra Nevada Brewing takes the form of a limited-edition whiskey distilled from Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye IPA.
This collaboration has been in the works for nearly a decade. "This is a spirit that has been in barrel for eight years — older than many craft distilleries," said Dave Smith, St. George's head distiller and blender. Fortunately, the results of this collaboration are ready to share with fans. As far as what whiskey drinkers can expect in terms of taste, the Ruthless whiskey is said to offer chocolate, turmeric, pistachio, fruit punch and coconut notes, plus marmalade, roasted pineapple, ginger, white pepper and even Tootsie Roll.
