The Glenlivet 40 Year Old is Exquisite and Mature
The Glenlivet has unveiled its most mature permanent offering to date with the introduction of The Glenlivet 40 Year Old. This meticulously crafted single malt Scotch whisky marks a significant milestone for the historic Speyside distillery.
The Glenlivet 40 Year Old follows the distillery's 200th anniversary celebrations. As such, the expression represents decades of expertise. Aged for 40 years, the spirit then underwent a finishing process in custom sherry casks, seasoned with a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherries, to enhance its depth and complexity. Bottled at 46.9% ABV (cask strength), the whisky delivers a rich sensory experience with notes of poached plums, dark cherries, charred orange, and warming spices, culminating in a long, sweet finish.
Presented in an elongated bottle inspired by the distillery’s original 19th-century design and housed in a copper-toned case mirroring its stills, the release is limited to just 36 bottles in Canada, priced at $7,500 CAD.
