Querétaro-based studio Gestalt Associates have completed a home design with a pronounced focus on light, air, and greenery.
Located in Querétaro, Mexico, Frame House is made of brick and concrete and comprises a series of asymmetrically stacked rectangular volumes. The house is built around an interior courtyard and stairwell that sits in the middle of the structure. Its design is in part informed by the colonial villas found within the city of Querétaro. The distinct layout of these villas - garden courtyards, distinct gathering points - is emulated in the design of Frame House.
The architects placed a series of indoor gardens throughout the interior, which creates an indoor-outdoor feel. Greenery is at the core of this house design, and a distinct focus on natural light ensures the rich vegetation receives enough sun.
