CplusC Architectural Workshop Designed This Elevated House in Sydney
Kalin Ned — August 21, 2022 — Art & Design
The Balmy Palmy House is an elevated house in Palm Beach, Sydney. The residence is located on a sloping site with a lush environment and is propped up on posts. The Australian firm that worked on this project, CplusC Architectural Workshop, intended for the elevated house to have a distinct treehouse-like feel. In the architecture industry, this has been a popular design approach as of late, especially for sites that have difficult terrains and beautifully lush surroundings, as well as locations that are prone to floods.
CplusC Architectural Workshop relied on a "simple timber structure" for the backbone of the elevated house. This was a strategic decision as the firm wanted to "align with a scenic bushland canopy and limit its environmental impact."
