Robbie Walker Forms a Facade Around the Sawmill Treehouse

Melbourne designer Robbie Walker has just completed a raised steel cabin dubbed the Sawmill Treehouse and it is a look that reflects a sculpture in the trees as it is nestled in the dense forest. Located in Victoria, Australia, the home rests on a steep sloped site in Sawmill settlement.
Walker noted the the cabin is meant for his client to 'relax and escape' as the structure respects the site's natural surroundings. Walker spoke to Dezeen about the design, noting "The slatted steel reflects light in a similar way to leaves on a tree, more than a big flat sheet of steel would. It will help the building to breathe in a hot Australian summer and also help to hide any services, allowing the building to sit more like a sculpture in the trees and not clutter the site."
