Blue Moon brewers attempted to bottle up the classic horchata drink for their latest Blue Moon beer aptly dubbed the Cinnamon Horchata Ale. The brew is the latest seasonal beverage from the company and it's expected to roll out sometime this fall.
A horchata is a traditional beverage native to South America and contains ground spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, among ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley, tigernuts (chufas) and milk. The spicy sweet beverage couldn't be more perfect for the fall. Move over Pumpkin Spice Latte, because there is a new richly spiced beverage in town -- one that is alcoholic too.
Along with packing cinnamon, this pale ale packs a 5.5 percent ABV. It is set to hit shelves as 12 oz bottle 6-packs.
