Auhaus Architecture's Cliff House is located atop a sand dune and boasts striking views of a nearby beach. The contemporary, wood-clad home was built as a replacement for an existing residence that had issues with steel corrosion. With that previous challenge, the Auhaus Architecture team took on this project determined to design a house that "could withstand a barrage of ocean spray and windy salt-driven rain without deteriorating over time."
Housing two adults and two elderly parents, this multi-generational home is weather-resistant without skipping out on elegant aesthetics and interior finishes. While its durable facade consists of practical and rustic situ concrete shells and Australian hardwood timber materials, its interior softens the wood and stone surfaces with lush carpeting, colorful tile and comfortably plush furniture.
